On Your Toes

Reprise! presents Front & Center Series presents lectures about ON YOUR TOES on Saturday August 18 and 25, 2007. All ticket holders for the Saturday Matinees are invited to the lectures as well as all Reprise! patrons and the public.

August 18, 2007
LA Times Dance Critic
LEWIS SEGAL
Mr. Segal will discuss the original ON YOUR TOES choreography and Balanchine's impact on Musical Theatre.

August 25, 2007
Musical Theatre Historian
MILES KREUGER
Mr. Kreuger will discuss the historical background of ON YOUR TOES and offer insights into the collaboration of Rodgers and Hart.

Lectures begin at 12:00pm. Admission to the lectures is free but a reservation is required (310) 319-1111.


Lecturer Biographies:


Lewis Segal is the Los Angeles Times Dance Critic. He has worked as the National Publicity Director of Capitol/Angel Records, West Coast Publicity Director of ABC Records, and Music Editor of Entertainment World Magazine. He is a frequent contributor to Dance Magazine and Performing Arts Magazine.

Miles Kreuger is founder and director of the Institute of the American Musical, Inc. Originated in New York City in 1972 and now located in Los Angeles, the institute houses the world’s largest archive expressly dedicated to the twin histories of the American musical theater and musical film.
