Peter Matz Education & Outreach Program

Michael Arden and Jean Louisa Kelly with Birmingham High SchoolSince our founding in 1997, our Education & Outreach program has reached more than 10,000 Los Angeles area middle- and high-school students. By bridging the classroom and the stage, we strive to foster students’ creativity, imagination and critical thinking skills while expanding their understanding of themselves and the world through the medium of theatre. By breaking down boundaries, we will create opportunities for those who do not have the resources to attend a professional theatrical production.

South Gate High Dance WorkshopOur programs are unique in that they provide students not only the opportunity to see a professional production, but they also include individualized instruction. Each participating class receives two in-school visits with our Reprise! teaching artists before and after the performance. We create lesson plans working with the curriculum, tying in themes from the production.

We strive to not only introduce a new generation to the theatre, but to give them a meaningful and deep experience as well. We also are committed to fostering the next generation of theatre professionals through our dress-rehearsal programs with local high-school theatre classes.

Jerry Sternbach Music WorkshopRecently, our Senior Outreach program was launched with the goal of reducing transportation and financial barriers for low-income seniors in Los Angeles. Last season, over 500 seniors participated in our program.

Reprise! offers all of our Education & Outreach Programs at no cost to the participants. Our programs are made possible by generous funding from foundations, government and our loyal patrons.
