STEPHEN BOGARDUS (Jeff Moss)

appeared on Broadway last season as reporter Mike Connors in High Society.  He played the writer Stine in the Los Angeles production of City of Angels at the Shubert Theatre and Whizzer in Falsettos at the Doolittle Theatre.  He starred in Ray Davies’ 80 Days at the La Jolla Playhouse and was seen as Freddy Trumper in the national tour of Chess, both directed by Des McAnuff.  He has appeared on Broadway in the Alan Menken/Tim Rice opus King David, Terrence McNally’s Love! Valour! Compassion! (Tony Nomination, Obie Award), Falsettos, The Grapes of Wrath, Les Miserables and West Side Story.  He has worked Off Broadway in Genesis and Umbrellas of Cherbourg (Public Theatre), March of the Falsettos and Falsettoland (Playwrights Horizons), Feathertop (WPA), No Way to Treat a Lady (Hudson Guild) and In Trousers (The Promenade Theatre).  For the City Center series entitled, ‘Encores! Great American Musicals In Concert’, he has co-starred in productions of Sweet Adeline and Allegro.  Mr. Bogardus has been a television guest on Law and Order, New York Undercover, Murder She Wrote, Tour of Duty, and co-stars in the films States of Control and Love! Valour! Compassion!.

CAROLEE CARMELLO (Ella Peterson)

can currently be seen on the A.M.C. series Remember W.E.N.N. playing the sassy, red-headed, Maple LaMarsh.  Along with the other cast members, she was nominated for a Screen Actors’ Guild Award for Best Ensemble in a Comedy Series.  She has also appeared on Another World, Late Night With Conan O’Brien, and Frasier.  On Broadway, Ms. Carmello originated the role of the Kosher caterer in Falsettos and received an LA Ovation Award for that portrayal when the Broadway cast reunited in Los Angeles.  She was also a member of the original Broadway cast of City of Angels and later returned to the show to play Oolie/Donna.  She portrayed Abigail Adams in the Broadway revival of 1776.  And most recently, Ms. Carmello received critical acclaim for her performance as Lucille Frank, a role she created for the new Broadway musical Parade, directed by Harold Prince.  Off Broadway, she appeared in john and jen, Das Barbecü, I Can Get It For You Wholesale and, for her work in Hello Again at Lincoln Center, Carolee received an Obie Award for Outstanding Performance.  Ms. Carmello can be heard on the cast recordings of Parade, Hello Again, john and jen, Das Barbecü, and the concept album of Jekyll and Hyde.

BROOKS ALMY (Sue)

REPRISE! audiences will remember Brooks as Mabel in last season’s The Pajama Game.  Other work includes Mrs. Lovett in Pittsburgh Public Theatre’s production of Sweeney Todd, and Golde and Fraulein Schneider at Sacramento Music Theatre in productions of Fiddler on the Roof and Cabaret.  She also appeared in the Toronto World Premiere of John Caird’s Jane Eyre.  On Broadway, audiences have seen her in Beauty and the Beast, Grand Hotel, The Little Prince, A Change in the Heir, and Play Me a Country Song.  She was seen in the Off Broadway hit Annie Warbucks, in the dual role of Mrs. Pugh and Dr. Whittleby, and as Reverend Mother in Nunsense.  New York City Opera credits include the Beggar Woman in Sweeney Todd, Mabel in The Pajama Game and Mrs. Paroo in Music Man.  She also toured nationally in Torch Song Trilogy.  Regionally, she has had leading roles in Blithe Spirit, The Sisters Rosensweig, Dancing at Lughnasa, Shirley Valentine, The Threepenny Opera, Annie, and the world premiere of The Brothers Karamazov at such theatres as Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Cincinnati Playhouse, Alley Theatre, and the La Jolla Playhouse where she received a Drama-Logue Award for the role of Mrs. Fixx in 80 Days.  She has guest starred on Frasier, Party of Five, The Visitor, Dharma & Greg, Sleepwalkers, Fired Up, and The Practice.  Upcoming feature films include Life with Eddie Murphy and Devlin and Emmerichs’ The Thirteenth Floor.

GARY BEACH (Sandor)

recently returned to his home in L.A. after an extended stay in New York playing “Lumiere” in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, a role he created on Broadway (Tony Nomination) and also performed here in L.A. at the Shubert Theater (Drama-Logue Award).  His numerous Broadway credits include the original productions of 1776, Annie, Something’s Afoot, and Doonesbury, among others.  And here in L.A. he has received Drama-Logue awards for his performance as Thenardier in Les Miserables and Tito in Lend Me a Tenor.  Gary’s “favorite year” was when he had the opportunity to perform in the now legendary production of James Kirkwood’s Legends! starring Mary Martin and Carol Channing on a cross-country tour.  No stranger to television, he has appeared on such shows as Murder She Wrote, Cheers, Letterman and HBO’s Arli$$ - and for the kids, on Saved By the Bell and California Dreams.  Having starred opposite Dorothy Loudon in New York’s Encores! series’ production of Sweet Adeline, Gary is thrilled to be a part of the West Coast reprise of Bells Are Ringing.

STEVE VINOVICH (Inspector Barnes)

has appeared on Broadway in Lost In Yonkers, Loose Ends, The Secret Rapture and the musicals The Grand Tour, The Robber Bridegroom and The Magic Show.  In the L.A. area he has starred in two productions at the Pasadena Playhouse - The Foreigner and Special Occasions - as well as in Awake and Sing at the Odyssey and in Golden Boy and the recent Divorcons at the Pacific Resident Theater.  His films include The Santa Clause, Awakenings, I’ll Do Anything, Mannequin and The Swan Princess.  He has appeared in hundreds of TV shows and commercials.  He is married to actress Carolyn Mignini and they are the proud parents of two great sons.

STEPHANIE J. BLOCK (Gwynne, Ensemble)

is thrilled to be making her REPRISE! debut in Bells Are Ringing.  Although a California native, she maintains residence in both Los Angeles and New York, working on both coasts and everywhere in between.  Some of her favorite and most recent roles include Buria in By Jupiter on Broadway; the Narrator in Joseph... ; Polly in Crazy for You; Ziegfied’s Favorite (opposite Pat Boone) in Will Rogers Follies; Fanny Brice in Funny Girl; and Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors.  Stephanie returns to us from the isles of Greece where she starred in a new Rock/Opera, Pygmalion, portraying the role of Aphrodite.  Much to her surprise, audiences still recognize her as the original Belle from Disneyland’s musical production of Beauty and the Beast, or for her role as Sarah in the series Life Goes On.  Stephanie has also given Barbie her singing voice for several national commercials.  She would like to acknowledge the loving support of her family and friends and the good Lord for the gift of song.

DAVID ENGEL (Carl, Ensemble)

is best known as Smudge in Forever Plaid, the role he created in the original New York, London West End, and Los Angeles productions (L.A. Drama Critics, Drama-Logue, Ovation Awards). On Broadway, he originated the role of Hanna from Hamburg in La Cage Aux Folles, played an Aggie in both the stage and the film version of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and created the role of Ernest Bellocq in the musical adaptation of Pretty Baby. Most recently, Mr. Engel starred in Singin' In The Rain for the Cabrillo Music Theatre and appeared opposite Carol Burnett in Putting It Together at the Mark Taper Forum which is slated for Broadway in the fall. Other stage credits include starring roles in Falsettos, Hello Again, Into the Woods, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Nite Club Confidential, Sophisticated Ladies, and The Fall of Ceausescu. In addition, he will be playing Giorgio in the Musical Theatre Guild's production of Passion at the Pasadena Playhouse on June 7th.

MELISSA FAHN (Ensemble)

Recent credits include REPRISE!s Of Thee I Sing, starring Gregory Harrison and Maureen McGovern, Zaneeta in Theatre League’s The Music Man, starring Barry Williams, and starring as Kathy Selden in Singin’ in the Rain for The Arvada Center Theater in Denver.  LA stage credits: REPRISE! SUSAN CARR GEORGE (Ensemble)

returns to Los Angeles after starring in the critically acclaimed European tour of Evita.  She received rave reviews and was compared to such notables as Patti Lupone and Celine Dion.  Ms. Carr George has proven herself to be an accomplished actress, singer and dancer, performing lead roles in Los Angeles and New York. This proudly marks her second appearance with REPRISE!  She was in the original Los Angeles hit Beauty and the Beast, the original Broadway and Los Angeles revival of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and the original L.A. company of Cats.  Starring in A  Chorus Line has also been a personal favorite of hers.  Having made countless television appearances nationally in “variety specials”, a personal highlight has been to dance with Mikhail Baryshnikov.  Dancing has been her way of life for many years, and she has appeared in the Academy Awards, Golden Globes, The Ace Awards and the Grammy Awards.  You might also recognize her from her appearances in many national commercials.  Recording has kept Ms. Carr George busy performing in solo act projects as well as recording voice-overs for companies like Sine-off and Dr. Pepper.   She is also the proud mother of two and cherishes her family most of all.

MELISSA HAIZLIP (Ensemble)

was seen on stage recently in The Tin Pan Alley Rag at the Coconut Grove Playhouse.  She appeared in the original Broadway cast of the Tony Award-winning musical Jelly’s Last Jam.  Other Broadway credits include A Christmas Carol and David Merrick’s Oh, Kay!  Ms. Haizlip recently relocated to Los Angeles, where she filmed Baby Huey’s Great Easter Adventure, a live-action children’s movie starring Harvey Korman and Maureen McCormick of TV’s The Brady Bunch.  Ms. Haizlip was the assistant choreographer, while also playing the role of Miss Twinkle.  A versatile actress, singer and dancer, Ms. Haizlip has performed nationally and abroad in numerous musicals, films, commercials, and television spots.  Theatre credits include Dreamgirls, Sophisticated Ladies, Cats, 42nd Street, Kiss Me, Kate, West Side Story, Pippin, and the world premiere of Randy Newman’s Faust at the La Jolla Playhouse.  She also portrayed the legendary Josephine Baker Off Broadway in a tribute entitled The Dark Star From Harlem.  Film credits include Forces and Bleeding Hearts, directed by Gregory Hines.  Television appearances include Saturday Night Live and The Gershwin Gala, in which she danced with Baryshnikov for Great Performances.  Ms. Haizlip grew up in the Virgin Islands and Connecticut, where she attended Yale.

TROY BRITTON JOHNSON (Blake Barton, Ensemble)

comes to L.A. from New York where he performed and covered the role of Joe hardy in the Broadway revival of Damn Yankees with Jerry Luis.  Also on Broadway, he played Elvis in the short-lived sequel The Best Little Whorehouse Goes Public and was in the original Broadway cast of The Will Roger Follies.  Off Broadway, he played Craig Prince in Charles Busch’s infamous Vampire Lesbians of Sodom.  He has performed on the Grammy Awards, the Kennedy Center Honors, the Tony Awards and played numerous roles at regional theaters across the country.  In LA, he most recently guest starred as Phil Harris on Beverly Hills 90210, sang on the concept recording of the new musical The Masada, and made numerous appearances on The Rosie O’Donnell Show.  Troy hails form North Carolina and is a graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and the Circle in the Square Theatre Program.

JOE JOYCE (Dr. Kitchell, Ensemble)

happily returns to REPRISE! where he played soda jerk Frank Lippencott in Wonderful Town opposite Lucie Arnaz and Stephanie Zimbalist.  Also in Los Angeles: Forbidden Hollywood and Broadway Bares LA.  Joe has appeared on Broadway in Swinging on a Star and Off Broadway in Pageant and Forever Plaid.  He toured with the National Companies of The Mystery of Edwin Drood and La Cage Aux Folles.  Regional appearances include Goodspeed Opera House, Cincinnati Playhouse and Pittsburgh Public Theatre.  Television credits: Ellen, Time of Your Life (Jennifer Love Hewitt pilot), and HBO’s Hardcore TV.  His one man show 3 Direct Hits has been produced at Triad and West Bank Downstairs Theatre in New York and at New Harmony Theatre in Indiana.

LARRY RABEN (Francis, Ensemble)

most recently appeared in I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change at the Coronet Theatre and in its West Coast premiere at the Laguna Playhouse.  Larry is a cast member of the original New York production of Forever Plaid, and originated the role of Sparky in the Los Angeles (Ovation, L.A. Drama Critics, and Drama-Logue Awards) and London West End productions.  Other New York, L.A., and regional credits include Whizzer in Falsettos, Ens. Pulver in Mister Roberts, Selridge in Biloxi Blues, MGM at Carnegie Hall, Bill in Over Here, Deputy in Drood, and Busby Berkeley in Lullabye of Broadway.  Larry can be seen in the new David Spade film Lost and Found.  Other films include Things to Do in Denver When You’re Dead, Cab to Canada, and Night of the Running Man.  Television appearances include Party of Five, Working, Caroline in the City, The Tonight Show, General Hospital, and Sunset Beach.  Recordings include Bacharach on Broadway, Unsung Sondheim, The Busby Berkeley Album, Girl Crazy, Lady Be Good, Pardon My English, and Sondheim: A Celebration.  Larry has co-authored two shows, Hollywood’s Heyday, a salute to the great movie musicals, and More Magic, a Motown musical that enjoyed a hit run in Toronto.

TERRY RHOADS (Larry Hastings, Ensemble)

This is Terry’s first appearance on the REPRISE! stage.  On other stages, some of his favorite roles have been Vernon in They’re Playing Our Song, Michael in I Do, I Do, and Harold Hill in The Music Man.  His least favorite include a turbaned guy in Kismet, and some townsperson in Seven Brides.  Terry was a series regular on the hilarious, albeit short-lived, Fox sit-com Living in Captivity earlier this year.  Other television appearances include Third Rock From the Sun, News Radio, Caroline in the City, Seinfeld, Cybill, and Party of Five.  He most recently guest starred on the new Norm Macdonald show, Norm.  Film credits include Living Out Loud, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, Liar, Liar and the soon to be released feature The Code.   Terry will always remember the profound words spoken to him recently during the filming of a Taco Bell commercial in which he plays the Dad.  “Terry, please stay out of the dog’s light.”

LISE SIMMS (Olga, Ensemble)

On television, Lise appears regularly on The Young and the Restless as Victor Newman’s secretary Connie, and was most recently seen in episodes of Providence and Friends.  Some other recent television credits include: Third Rock From the Sun, The Pretender, Star Trek: Voyager, Mad TV, Party of Five, Beverly Hills 90210, Sunset Beach, The Parenthood and Oh Baby.  On stage she has starred in Other People’s Money, Sweet Charity, They’re Playing Our Song, Mame, My One and Only, Bye Bye Birdie, My Fair Lady, A Chorus Line, Can Can and many others, and has had the pleasure of performing opposite such notables as Lucie Arnaz, Marvin Hamlisch, Judy Kay, Lynn Redgrave, Betty White and Stephanie Zimbalist.  Lise will soon be seen in the upcoming feature The Code, starring Michael York.  She is delighted to be back with REPRISE! where audiences will remember her from Promises Promises, Wonderful Town and Of Thee I Sing.
