Michael is happy to return to Reprise after directing Carousel, Man of La Mancha and Li’l Abner. He is the Co-Artistic Director of The Theatre @ Boston Court in Pasadena where he has directed Tom Jacobson’s The Twentieth-Century Way (L.A. Drama Critics Circle Award for Direction), Deborah Stein’s God Save Gertrude, Jason Grote’s 1001, the world premiere of Eric Whitacre’s musical Paradise Lost: Shadows & Wings (10 Ovation Award Nominations), Carlos Murillo’s Dark Play or Stories For Boys (Two L.A.D.C.C. Award winning choreographer Lee Martino has choreographed for stage, screen and TV. Work for Reprise includes: Brigadoon starring Marin Mazzie and Jason Daniely, On The Town, Damn Yankees, Li’l Abner starring Cathy Rigby, On Your Toes, I Love My Wife, The Fantasticks and Carousel. Lee also directed and choreographed “A Grand Night For Dancing” a dance concert celebrating the work Richard Rodgers. Her work spans all disciplines as evidenced by her recent credits: Jenny Craig’s national TV commercial featuring Jason Alexander “Baring It All”, the NBC 2 hour television special, “Shall We Dance on Ice” featuring Broadway dancers and Olympic Ice Dance teams, the recently released animated feature film Alpha and Omega 3D, for Lionsgate. Summer of Love a world premiere for Musical Theatre West. Joe DiPietro’s “Falling for Eve” for The York Theatre Company in Manhattan, the opening number for the 2011Writers Guild of America Awards performed by Modern Family’s Eric Stonestreet and Jesse Tyler Ferguson. Lee has won Four Los Angeles Ovation Awards, including this year’s for Carousel, Three Los Angeles Drama Critics Awards and several Backstage Garland Awards. Jared’s work has been represented throughout the U.S., on Broadway, Off-Broadway, in London’s West End, Spain, Edinburgh, Las Vegas, theme parks, and on international tours. Regionally, he’s designed for International City Theatre, Pasadena Playhouse/Intimate Opera Company, the Colony (Ovation Nomination for Trying), Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey (East Coast premier of I Capture the Castle), LA Opera, Civic Light Opera of South Bay, Reprise (Forum, Grand Night for Dancing, They’re Playing our Song, Gigi), Cabrillo Music Theatre and the LA revival of The Who’s Tommy (Ricardo Montalban Theatre). On the West End, Jared designed Rolling with Laughter at Her Majesty’s Theatre with subsequent productions in Nottingham & Los Angeles. Broadway credits: Bravo Bernstein (Hudson Theatre) and Gotham Glory at Carnegie Hall. Jared was the US Assistant Designer for the Broadway productions of PRIMO, The Woman in White and the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. Phil has designed the sound for Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks on Broadway; the 2002 to 2005 national tour of Jesus Christ Superstar starring Carl Anderson; The Ten Commandments starring Val Kilmer at the Kodak Theatre; The Creature From The Black Lagoon at Universal Studios Hollywood; Measure for Measure, Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Cinderella at the Ahmanson Theatre; Pippin, The House of Blue Leaves, The Talking Cure, Like Jazz, Big River, Flower Drum Song and First Picture Show at the Mark Taper Forum; and all thirteen seasons of the Reprise Theatre Company’s productions at UCLA’s Freud Playhouse. Other design work includes Paint Your Wagon, Six Dance Lessons In Six Weeks and Ain’t Nothin' But the Blues at the Geffen Playhouse; Play On, Only a Kingdom, and Blame it on the Movies at the Pasadena Playhouse; Masada at the Shubert Theatre in LA; Forever Plaid and Blues in the Night at the Coconut Grove Playhouse in Miami; and the US workshop productions of the musical Zorro with music by John Cameron and the Gipsy Kings. He served as Production Sound Engineer for Jason Robert Brown’s 13 at the Taper, Thoroughly Modern Millie at La Jolla Playhouse, and was the head soundman for the national tours of Titanic, Ain’t Misbehavin’ and Man of La Mancha. He won the 2009 NAACP award for Sound Design for Once On This Island, 2003 NAACP award for Sound Design for Jesus Christ Superstar, the 2001 Ovation Award for Flower Drum Song, and the 1999 LA Drama Critics Circle Award for Cinderella, as well as five LA Dramalogue Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Design, and two Ovation Award nominations for Best Sound Design. Mr. Allen created the Voiceover Acting curriculum at the USC School of Theatre where he also teaches Sound Design. He has also teaches graduate design courses at the California Institute of the Arts.
